Grove Rough Terrain cranes have been synonymous with the state's mining and construction industry for over 25 years building a reputation for outstanding durability and reliability in some of the world's harshest conditions. The new 'E' series released recently from Grove offer greater capacities, extended boom lengths and technological advances making them the most versatile and operator-friendly cranes available in today's market. The new RT9130E 120 tonne Rough Terrain is the largest in its class equipped with a 48.5m main boom, outstanding capabilities and will be the first of its kind when it arrives soon in Western Australia.
A rapid development phase over the past few years of the original Grove Truck cranes has resulted in the release of the new 'E' series. With a capacity range of 40 to 80 tonnes this model continues to enforce the brand's promise of reliability and ease of use. The 'E' series combines well recognised components from Cummins, Eaton and Rockwell with PAT LMI systems controlling the superstructure. Other features include air-bag suspension, ergonomically designed cabins, excellent lifting capacities and a low maintenance truck carrier. The latest release, the TMS900E is a 80 tonne Truck Mount that is equipped with a 43.2m pinned main boom and all the features of the Grove All Terrain superstructure.
When it comes to All Terrain cranes, possibly the most popular and versatile of all is the Grove GMK series. Ranging in capacity from 35 to 450 tonne, the GMK series has been an ongoing success story for WATM in Western Australia since delivery of its first crane, a GMK6200, back in 2000. The GMK range boasts several market leading features including boom technology MEGAFORM, which is the latest boom profiling and wear pad technology and also Grove's patented boom pinning system TWINLOCK.
Leading the way not only in the air but on the ground as well, Grove's patented 'Megatrac' fully independent suspension system makes driving a GMK as easy as an average passenger vehicle. The crane deck remains perfectly level whilst the crane traverses even the roughest terrain by allowing each wheel to move up and down independently of its own axle strut. Not only does this increase comfort and reduce wear and tear on the crane chassis, it also improves the life and performance of the tyres.
Several recent new releases from Grove include; the 55 tonne three axle GMK3055 All Terrain with a 43m boom, the 130 tonne five axle GMK5130-1 which is equipped with a 60m boom and the most recent being the new 80 tonne four axle GMK4080-1. This latest 80 tonne All Terrain not only comes complete with a 51m main boom and the latest EKS 5 Control System, it also has the added ability of being able to carry its own fly, auxiliary winch, 9.3T counterweight and hooks whilst remaining within 12T per axle.
