Why does Make-A-Wish exist?
Make-A-Wish makes the cherished wishes of children and teenagers battling life-threatening medical conditions come true. For over 30 years, Make-A-Wish has been the only charity in Australia solely focused on granting bespoke, life-changing wishes.
Why is a wish important?
Every day, six families around Australia receive the news that their child has a life-threatening medical condition. That’s 2,000 families each year in need of a vital wish; four times the number of families we’re currently able to reach.
We believe in the healing power of a wish. We take each child on a carefully designed, unique journey where they anticipate and experience their most cherished wish coming true. This journey gives these really sick kids and teens hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience.
Make-A-Wish wishes are vital, build resilience and, together with medical treatment, give seriously ill kids the best chance of survival.
A wish is a must-have, for children and teenagers fighting serious illness
The vast majority of families tell us they see noticeable, lasting improvements in their child’s emotional and physical health as a result of their wish journey. As one wish mum told us: “It was the turning point during his treatment.”
How do we make wishes come true?
Receiving no government funding, Make-A-Wish is only able to continue to make wishes come true thanks to wonderful support and generosity of local communities, individuals and business partners along with our incredible national network of volunteers.
Newman Enduro Club
WATM are proud supporters and participants in the Newman Enduro Club and more specifically their 12 hour Dessert Race.
A extremely well run event, located 42kms south of Newman that sees great involvement from riders from around the east and west Pilbara regions.
WATM has also participated in this event for the previous two years and would like to thank all those involved for not only the way the event is run but also the way the safety of all riders is prioritised.
East Pilbara BMX Club
WATM are proud supports of the East Pilbara BMX club located in Newman WA.
As a business we have always enjoyed participating in the communities that we work in. It is also great to be able to directly see the benefit of our involvement in the level of facilities that the club’s members are able to enjoy.
Thanks for allowing WATM to be involved.
